CUPERTINO, October 15 — Apple has unveiled the Apple Home Collection, a new line of smart home devices developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, designed to operate entirely within the Apple Home app without requiring separate applications or accounts. The collection includes security cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt, thermostats, and environmental sensors. Setup begins with a single tap on iPhone.
The camera lineup offers indoor, outdoor, and floodlight configurations, all supporting up to 2.5K video resolution and capable of identifying people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles, and packages when paired with a compatible Apple home hub. The LG Video Doorbell Wired uses dual cameras—one for visitors and one for packages—and includes a built-in spotlight.
The LG Floodlight Cam provides adaptive dual floodlights and color night vision. The LG Indoor Cam Plug-In adjusts its position based on occupancy, tilting up to stop recording when household members return and down to resume when they leave. Supported iCloud+ plans offer up to 10 days of event video history, Apple Intelligence-generated video descriptions, and natural-language search of footage.
Built-in camera storage preserves recordings during temporary Wi-Fi outages. Camera footage processes locally on the Apple home hub or through Private Cloud Compute.
The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock unlocks automatically when an iPhone or Apple Watch approaches using Ultra Wideband, and can also be unlocked via tap, PIN pad, or a concealed backup key slot. It supports Matter and Aliro protocols and operates locally if internet connectivity is lost. Guest access is managed through the Home app, allowing temporary users like dog walkers or house sitters to receive individual access without physical keys.
The doorbell and lock function together in a single Home app view, enabling users to see, speak to, and unlock the door without switching screens. Thermostats from LG and Schneider Electric feature on-device intelligence, energy-aware scheduling, and Matter compatibility, designed for DIY installation with on-device wire detection. Apple Intelligence’s Adaptive Temperature feature uses on-device iPhone intelligence to adjust heating and cooling based on user presence.
Clean Energy Guidance in the contiguous United States shifts system operation toward cleaner or lower-cost grid periods when a compatible utility plan is available. Temperature and humidity data can be sourced from standalone sensors or from sensors built into HomeView, HomePod, and HomePod mini.
Apple states that all Home Collection data is end-to-end encrypted in Apple Home, meaning Apple, LG, and Schneider Electric cannot access user data. When a Wi-Fi password is changed, accessories automatically update their network credentials. Pricing starts at $39.95 for temperature and room sensors.
The LG Indoor Cam Plug-In is $199.95, the LG Video Doorbell Wired is $249.95, the LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In is $299.95, the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock is $349.95, and the LG Floodlight Cam is $399.95. Thermostats from LG and Schneider Electric start at $199.95.
ADT installation is available at Apple Retail locations in the United States for an additional fee. Cameras launch first in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom, while the lock, thermostats, and sensors are listed for the United States and Canada only. Some products arrive in December 2026, with select accessories following in early 2027.
Several standout features require iCloud+ or a compatible Apple home hub, and independent testing has not yet taken place.
