The 2026 Garmin Run Marathon Series – Malaysia is set to take place on 1 November 2026 in Putrajaya, in the Kuala Lumpur area of Malaysia. The event forms part of the wider Garmin Run Marathon Series, a running event that brings together participants for a day of distance racing in a planned city known for its wide boulevards and green spaces.
What can participants expect?
The Garmin Run Marathon Series is built around running, with the Malaysian leg expected to draw a mix of local and international entrants. Putrajaya’s layout, with its broad roads and landscaped surroundings, is well suited to a road-running event, and the city’s administrative core is a familiar backdrop for mass-participation races in Malaysia. As with any marathon-series event, runners should check the official event channels closer to the date for confirmed race categories, start times and entry details, as these are typically announced by the organiser rather than fixed far in advance.
Where is it and how do I get there?
Putrajaya sits roughly 25 to 30 kilometres south of central Kuala Lumpur and is served by its own rail connections. Visitors arriving in KL can use the Klang Valley’s rail network, including the MRT Putrajaya Line, which links the capital with Putrajaya and provides a practical alternative to driving. Taxis and ride-hailing services are also widely available. Those travelling from KLIA or klia2 can reach Putrajaya by road or rail, making the venue accessible for runners arriving by air.
What should attendees coming to KL know?
November falls within Malaysia’s wetter period, so runners should prepare for warm, humid conditions and possible rain. Early starts are common at Malaysian races for this reason. Visitors should allow extra time on event morning, as road closures and heavy foot traffic are typical around race venues. It is also worth confirming transport arrangements in advance, since services can be busier than usual on race day. Full event information, including registration and race-day logistics, is best confirmed through the official Garmin Run Marathon Series channels as the date approaches.
