Foxconn Unveils Three New EV Models for Contract Manufacturing Push

TAIPEI, November 2, 2026 — Foxconn unveiled three new electric vehicle reference models at its Hon Hai Tech Day 2026 conference in Taipei, bringing its EV lineup to 12 and extending its contract design and manufacturing services into Japan’s kei-class truck segment. The new models are the MODEL A+ and MODEL K+ SUVs and the MODEL K compact truck.

The vehicles are offered to automotive clients through Foxconn’s contract design and manufacturing services model, known as CDMS, rather than sold under a Foxconn consumer brand. According to the company, the models target under-penetrated markets with cost-competitive options and flexible design platforms.

Three Models, Three Segments

The MODEL A+ is a B-segment SUV positioned as an expressive luxury-style vehicle for affluent drivers. Foxconn said it expands its business-to-business product portfolios in what it described as the fastest-growing B-segment SUV market. The vehicle uses in-wheel motor technology and a selectable electrical and electronic architecture. Its interior is designed to address flood-capability emergencies, temporary living space and backup power for glamping and camping lifestyles.

The MODEL K+ is a lifestyle SUV aimed at younger customers. Its styling draws on Japan’s city pop music era of the 1970s and 1980s, updated with a modern interpretation. Foxconn is pitching it to businesses looking to develop their own branded lifestyle SUV as well as automakers seeking affordable, distinctive vehicles for younger buyers. In-wheel motors allow personalization of exterior, interior, driving range and electrical architecture at what the company calls a competitive price.

The MODEL K is a compact truck for the specialized commercial kei truck class, with last-mile delivery and mobility-service applications among its intended uses. Foxconn said the design offers a lower total cost of ownership through reduced energy and maintenance costs. The canopy-ready truck takes design cues from the company’s MODEL T electric bus and features a lower bed height and longer bed length.

Contract Manufacturing at the Core

Foxconn’s automotive pitch rests on its CDMS offering: clients bring brand and market knowledge, and Foxconn supplies design and manufacturing capacity. Jun Seki, Foxconn’s chief strategy officer for EV, said the new reference EVs join the group’s emerging electromobility ecosystem, which is “accelerating time-to-market, time-to-cost and time-to-technology for our customers and partners.”

The scale behind that ecosystem is substantial. Foxconn is the world’s largest contract manufacturer of electronics, with annual revenue of 6.16 trillion New Taiwan dollars in 2023, according to company figures. It ranked 20th in the 2023 Fortune Global 500. The EV push applies that contract manufacturing model to vehicles, a business the company is building alongside its established electronics operations.

The Taipei exhibition floor reflected the breadth of the effort. Foxconn showed full-stack battery development made in Taiwan, from materials to cells and packs to battery management systems, along with electrical and electronic architecture and powertrains for two- and three-wheel vehicles. A right-hand drive MODEL B was on display as the result of a CDMS collaboration. Honda R&D and Mitsubishi Electric Mobility discussed their electromobility developments with Foxconn in separate remarks onstage.

Kei Trucks and the Japan Angle

The MODEL K’s move into kei-class trucks is notable for a Taiwanese manufacturer. Kei trucks are a distinctly Japanese category of small commercial vehicles, and Foxconn said the model supports compliance with environmental regulations, making it attractive to decarbonization-focused entrepreneurs, municipalities and government agencies. The company did not disclose pricing or production timelines for any of the three models.

For investors, the unveiling is a product signal rather than a revenue event. Hon Hai shares were quoted at 13.45 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 3:10 p.m. CET on Friday, October 30, 1.47 percent below the 13.65-euro reference in the previous report published on October 29, according to ad-hoc-news.de. The next scheduled financial test is Hon Hai’s third-quarter earnings report on November 12, 2026.
